DESTROYER - TSS Lightning (DS-1)

Designed around the same hull form as its smaller cousin, the Berlin-class corvette (posted last year), the Lightning-class fleet destroyer is over twice the size and possesses a significant advantage in firepower. Armed with four medium and four light coil guns (a pair each on the dorsal and ventral hulls) and several heavy missile cells, plus eight-point defense missile launchers and eight-point defense cannons, the Lightning-class is a deadly opponent to anyone who would dare threaten Earth.
Compared to its smaller cousin, this ship has removed the fixed main guns on the nose of the ship (which required precise alignment of the ship to fire) and has a hangar for small shuttles located aft of the superstructure that houses the bridge. Furthermore, the entire antenna and electronic countermeasures system of this ship has been mounted on the nose.
